The Phase - I programme provided first-hand experience to the students in learning the technique of sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyaclyamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and Western blotting. While preparing samples, the interns acquired skills to operate several commonly used research laboratory equipment viz. balance, pH meters, centrifuges, spectrophotometer etc. and learned to weigh chemicals, prepare reagents and buffers, and also process samples.
The Phase - II programme aims to help the interns gain theoretical knowledge about the electrophoretic and blotting techniques, and know about the varied applications of these important techniques for protein analyses.
The programme has been designed to fulfil the internship criteria as prescribed in the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme following NEP 2020, and is open for both UG/PG students.
